Marga Biazzi, known by her pseudonym Blackbanshee, is one of the most sensitive and poetic illustrators on the Milanese scene. A misanthrope and a loner, lost in her own fantastical world, Blackbanshee nevertheless claims to love our little planet and all its inhabitants dearly. This matter is so dear to her that environmental and animal rights issues, and all those centred on respect and compassion, are ever-present in the stories she writes and illustrates.
Her work contains references to the purest folklore, drawing from across the globe with a particular fondness for the evocative Japanese culture. She has published several titles for publishers such as Giunti, Shockdom, Raffaello Editrice, Rusconi Libri and the British Story Time Magazine.
For the Vertigo Syndrome exhibitions, he has illustrated the white magic book Strix, the card game Stregherie, and now the new book of fear and mystery Yokai Monogatari, inspired by a famous role-playing game. For the Yokai exhibition, held at Palazzo Pallavicini in the heart of Bologna, he created ‘Les Montres Decò’: seven illustrations depicting seven Yokai and Bakemono from Japanese culture and folklore.
