From November 10, 2023 to February 25, 2024, the Civic Museums of Monza will host ISIA ACADEMY 1922-1943. When Designers Wore Ties, an exhibition that evokes the brief but crucial story of Monza’s Istituto Superiore di Industrie Artistiche, among the most important art and design schools active in early postwar Europe.
Among period images, artworks and video installations, the exhibition tells the story and the protagonists of this extraordinary artistic affair, demonstrating to new generations of creatives that the young students of that time, who attended ISIA’s courses in suits and ties, were designing and experimenting with the same passion and dedication as contemporary aspiring designers, 3D modelers and digital illustrators, albeit with different tools, technologies and techniques.
The exhibition is curated by Alberto Crespi, produced in collaboration with Vertigo Syndrome.
