The taste of Japan for anime

At the Palazzo della Meridiana in Genoa, an unmissable event created by Vertigo Syndrome for the super otaku of manga, anime… and Japanese cuisine. From 14 October 2023 to 28 January 2024 Palazzo della Meridiana, in Genoa, hosts the exhibition Itadakimasu.

Little Stories Hidden in the Kitchen of Souls, conceived and produced by Vertigo Syndrome, with the support of Palazzo della Meridiana, and curated by the food influencer @pranzoakonoha, star of instagram and recently also of TV, in collaboration with the writer Silvia Casini, author of the book “The Enchanted Kitchen”.

Visitors to Itadakimasu will be invited to explore the deep connection between culture, entertainment and gastronomic pleasures, discovering hidden stories and precious secrets of Japanese tradition.

To guide them in this secret world will be the manga, the anime, the masterpieces of animated cinema signed by masters such as Hayao Miyazaki, Eichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto, who have helped to make known in the West – and to make world – dishes such as ramen, onigiri and udon, with their flavours, shapes and scents.

Through faithful reproductions of dishes, specially made in full size; wonderful illustrations inspired by the most loved cartoons and movies, as well as video panels showing, in the form of tutorials, how to prepare these famous recipes, the exhibition will tell visitors tasty and particular aspects about Japan.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog published by Trenta Editore, which had already created “The Enchanted Kitchen” written by Silvia Casini.

As a tribute to all visitors, a small recipe book on the cuisine of anime with the culinary creations, explained step by step, created by the curator of the exhibition, the food influencer @pranzoakonoha Finally, numerous collateral events will animate the exhibition, which will host conferences, show cooking, workshops, book presentations and many other themed meetings every week.
